Just for the record, I don’t like roller coasters.  I’m not fond of merry-go-rounds either.  To be honest, I don’t “do” rides.  But oh-so-most recently, God gave me a free pass to the Amusement Park of Life.  My lunch was lost (more than once) on that darn roller coaster, as it went up and around, over and through, around and around, higher and higher, plunging downward where I was certain I was going to reach Warp Factor 10 any moment!  And the merry-go-round, with its up and down, up and down, around and around, around and around.  I knew I’d fall off that silly carousel horse with the dizziness of it all!  I went on that terrible, horrible, oh-so-ridiculously-cruel-floor-drops-out-centrifugal force thingee, as I clung to the side with my whole life going in circles about me!  And the swings…those dreaded swings!  I was certain they’d swing right off their base, or at the very least, my very swing would come loose of its moorings, and I’d sail, swing and all, to the moon!  But you know what happened?  I survived that roller coaster.  I eventually found my footing after the merry-go-round.  And the floor was once again under my feet.  The swings didn’t send me to the moon, and I found myself back on solid ground.  And then do you know what happened?  I was put into the most gentle ride…that water ride where you get to float along with the current, the breeze blowing gently, and the sun shining ever so sweetly.  (I think they put that ride into that Amusement Park of Life for us old folks, especially.)
